Thread Lifts

Our skin’s collagen and elastin deteriorate as you age. This can lead to sagging skin, which may produce wrinkles, lines and hollow areas. A thread lift is a non-surgical option which can stimulate collagen and correct loss of volume and drooping areas.

About Thread Lifts

A thread lift is a minimally invasive facelift. Nothing is cut. Instead, threads are strategically placed to help rectify laxity, improve firmness and streamline the face and neck.

Thread lifts can also stimulate collagen production as the skin heals around the threads, which can make the skin more resilient from the inside out.

The threads are sterile strands of surgical material that are completely compatible with the human body. In fact, the skin eventually absorbs the threads on its own.

Because the threads contain tiny barbs, they anchor themselves to the skin, pulling just enough to provide a lift where it’s needed. This ends up creating a natural look. It’s not as dramatic as a surgical facelift, but it creates subtle support without incisions or scarring.

Thread lifts may be ideal for people who are at least 30 years old who would like to raise their jowls, jawline, neck and mid-face. The perfect candidate can be those with mild or moderate skin laxity. Those with extremely loose skin may not benefit from the procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

With this procedure, there is a low risk of excessive bruising, swelling, scarring or bleeding. However, some people do develop swelling or discoloration for a few days. If the threads are placed incorrectly, they can make the skin pucker. That’s why it’s so important to choose a reputable doctor for this treatment.
This procedure can make you feel slightly sore or tender for up to three weeks. Your cheeks may feel tight, especially when you move it to yawn or chew. Staying hydrated can make you more comfortable during this time.
After the threads are placed, they gradually break down. They are reabsorbed within 12 to 24 months, at which time you’ll notice that the effects of the treatment diminish.
