PRF Skin Rejuvenation Treatments in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast, Perth & Canberra

As we age, our skin produces less elastin and collagen and is more prone to wrinkles, fine lines and other common skin conditions. PRF skin rejuvenation can help reverse these signs of ageing.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) skin rejuvenation treatments use the healing power of your own blood to help regenerate your skin.

Platelet Rich Fibrin (PRF) skin treatment is considered the second generation of PRP skin treatments and theoretically improves on it in every way. PRF uses a higher concentration of growth factors and includes stem cells, fibrin and white blood cells. PRF can contain a much greater concentration of platelets than normal blood.

PRF skin treatments improve upon PRP in some fundamental ways.

  • No anticoagulant or additives! By using specific tubes for PRF there is no anticoagulant in the tube that the blood is collected, the plasma actually forms a platelet and white blood cell-rich fibrin scaffold once injected into the treatment area. The fibrin clot can allow for a much slower and longer release of the growth factors and cytokines – in other words, PRF treatment can continue to release more growth factors in your skin over time, even after your treatment is completed.
  • PRF can also stimulate faster healing than PRP.
  • The blood is spun using a specific centrifuge at a lower speed so that the layers of the blood don’t separate as distinctly. It also leaves essential elements within the plasma, such as fibrin and white blood cells we know are good for healing and stem cells that are the body’s self-repair system.

PRF skin treatments can be effective at treating:

Wrinkles and fine lines

Damaged skin

Acne scarring

Hyper-pigmentation

Sagging and discoloured skin

Your PRF Skin Treatment Appointment

Your PRF skin treatment appointment should take 60 minutes and require minimal recovery time.

You will fill out a medical history form during your free skin consultation where you will detail any medication you’re taking that may determine your suitability for the PRF skin treatment.

PRF skin treatments work like this:

  • PRF engineered tubes & tube holder/cooler are stored in a fridge at 4 degrees.
  • We withdraw a small amount of blood, using equipment specifically designed for PRF treatments.
  • The PRF tubes is then placed into a tube holder and cooler for 60 seconds. By cooling the blood, this can result in 20-50% more PRF liquid to be used to reintroduced into the areas where there is skin concerns.
  • Then, we immediately place that blood into a unique centrifuge for PRF treatments to separate the different elements of blood. The PRF tubes are spun at an exact 700rpm for 5 minutes.
  • PRF is then carefully injected into the areas of concern. These fine injections are in conjunction with microneedling.

Once complete, you will most likely have some redness which will subside over the next few days. We strongly suggest to do your best to avoid the sun for 3-5 days, depending on how sensitive your skin is to the PRF skin treatment.

After your PRF skin rejuvenation treatment there should be minimal side effects. You can expect redness with maybe some minimal bruising. During your free skin consultation and after your treatment, we will explain to you in detail what precautions you need to take to make sure your skin heals properly.

PRF skin treatments

PRF skin treatments are the evolution of the exceptionally popular PRP skin treatments. It builds on PRP in a couple of fundamental ways to improve results and deliver even more healing potential. PRF skin treatments may contain a much greater concentration of platelets than PRP. Another advantage of PRF is that the treatment may continue to release growth factors over time even after the treatment has been completed.

PRF, platelet-rich fibrin, uses the 100% natural healing power of your own blood to help encourage the production of collagen and elastin and the regeneration of skin cells.

This can result in firmer, smoother, younger-looking skin, that helps maintain a youthful body. It can also help treat a range of common conditions such as wrinkles, fine lines, skin discolouration, sagging skin and the many signs of ageing.

PRF skin treatments are:

  • Non-surgical and non-invasive
  • PRF skin treatments may contain a much greater concentration of platelets than PRP.
  • Can continue to release growth factors over time, even after treatment
  • Completely natural as they use your own blood as the treatment
  • Fast and effective with appointments lasing just 45 minutes
  • An alternative to other cosmetic treatments
  • Affordable and accessible to both men and women

How do PRF skin treatments work?

PRF skin treatments work by utilising the healing power of your own blood in targeted areas.

The process is simple and painless and will be over in just 45 minutes.

We begin by taking a small sample of blood, like a blood test. We refine the blood and separate it into the PRF solution.

The solution contains platelets, fibrin, white blood cells and other growth factors that can help regenerate skin and make it look younger.

The PRF solution is applied using tiny injections under the eyes and microneedling the entire face with your own PRF solution.

Once complete, we can apply a red LED light to help minimise redness and reduce inflammation.

After that, you’re free to go about your day with little or no sign you had anything done!

PRF Skin Treatment at Hair and Skin Science

PRF Treatments at Doctor-Led Hair Loss Clinics in Australia

PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) Skin Treatments use the fibrin matrix from your own blood with the aim of supporting collagen production and skin regeneration over time. Hair and Skin Science offers PRF skin treatments across 16 clinics in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide.

All treatments are performed by registered nurses and supported by Australian-registered doctors. Individual results vary and a consultation is the first step in determining whether PRF skin treatment is appropriate for your situation.

PRF Skin Treatments use your body’s own blood to create a fibrin matrix that may release growth factors over time, supporting collagen production and tissue processes. Because the treatment uses your own blood, the risk of allergic reaction to the material is considered low. Results develop gradually and vary between individuals.

PRF is processed differently to PRP and contains platelets, white blood cells, and fibrin within a matrix structure. These components are understood to play a role in tissue processes and collagen support. Whether PRF delivers more pronounced improvements than PRP varies between individuals and cannot be guaranteed.

As we age, collagen production naturally declines, contributing to wrinkles, sagging, and changes in skin elasticity. PRF skin treatments aim to support collagen production, which may help address the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles over a course of sessions. Individual responses vary and outcomes are not guaranteed.

One characteristic of PRF is its fibrin matrix structure, which may allow growth factors to be released over a longer period following the procedure. This may support ongoing collagen stimulation in the weeks after treatment. The duration of any improvements varies between individuals and depends on factors including age, skin condition, and lifestyle.

At Hair and Skin Science, every PRF skin treatment plan is developed based on your individual skin condition and concerns. Whether you are looking to address wrinkles, improve skin texture, or manage acne scarring, our Australian-registered doctors and registered nurses will assess your skin and discuss a treatment plan suited to your situation. Realistic expectations will be discussed openly before you proceed.

At Hair and Skin Science, all PRF skin treatments are performed registered nurses and supported by Australian-registered doctors. All medical & health practitioners are registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and registration details are available on request. It uses blood plasma, white blood cells, fibrin and stem cells to help encourage the regeneration of skin to reduce the signs of ageing and to help treat a number of skin conditions.
The number of PRF treatments you’ll need depends on the current condition of your skin, your age and overall health. Typically, we recommend 3-5 spaced 1-2 months, however, this depends on you as an individual and how you respond to your first PRF skin treatment.

Outcomes cannot be guaranteed and your treating health practitioner will discuss realistic expectations at consultation.

The PRF skin treatment appointment is carried out in a friendly, relaxed atmosphere. First, a registered nurse will withdraw a small amount of blood using a specific PRF tube and place it in a centrifuge. We carefully inject your own PRF into your skin. This is combined with micro-needling the entire face, which may help with blood flow and collagen production.

We then provide complimentary LLLT therapy after every PRF skin treatment you have. LLLT can help promote collagen production, increase blood flow throughout the skin, reduce the inflammation and may help accelerate the healing process.
Most people over the age of 18 can have PRF skin treatments, with a few exceptions. Anyone with a condition of the blood or taking specific medication will need to seek medical advice before undergoing treatment. At Hair and Skin Science we make sure to take precautions and ask for your medical history during your free skin consultation.
We recommend that patients verify the qualifications of any provider before proceeding with any treatment.
